The importance of spending time as a family – Thitarat’s goosebump moment

(text video)

Thitarat: “I am from Thailand. My goosebump moment is when I stay with my family. Because of work, I have to stay away from my family. I get a chance to see them once a month. For this reason, my quality time with my family is very precious. Every month, I have to drive a car back and forth, around 700 kilometers to see my husband and play with my two little daughters. As Thai people, we always put our family as a priority. We always spend time with our family and do all things together. As a child, I was raised by my mom and dad who really love and care about me. I had a great time with them and my brother. Now that I’m grown up, I have a family of my own, and I know that being a mother myself can really make me happy. In conclusion, family is father and mother, I love you.”

Family, an essential factor in our lives

The fast pace of modern life makes us easily forget that the simple fact of spending time with our family is important. Our time is one of the best things we can give them. Family is forever and that’s why the time you dedicate to it is directly proportional.

The time we spend together as a family is an essential to create strong bonds, love, connections and relationships among all its members. Spending quality time with your family helps you face challenges, instills a sense of security, strengthens family values, fills children with confidence and much more.

Family time

The main reason why family time is important is because it develops family bonds and in this way, we relate directly to the need to share, talk and listen to each other as a family.

Rituals or the little things we do on a daily basis and on special occasions help build a sense of belonging, satisfaction and inner security within the family. Daily rituals, such as how we greet each other or say goodbye, what we do at mealtime or bedtime, can be something to share within our family time.

It is beneficial for the family to get together to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries or celebrations such as Christmas, Easter, etc., where they learn about these traditions and what happens at those times.

Family time is essential to appreciate, encourage and value the differences of each family member, knowing that each person is special in his or her own way. Allow each family member to be enthusiastic about his or her personal interests and show respect and tolerance towards them.

Family is everything

Family is the most important pillar of society and our nucleus. Without family, we would be lonely beings and lack that much needed support.

Fairness, love, tolerance, respect, communication; these are all values that we develop in a family setting. However, this concept of family has changed and today we must understand it in its maximum expression. Family is friends, pets, people who are there when you need them; thus, although it is not always the traditional structure formed by parents and children, there is an unbreakable bond that unites them across the board.
